She stood crying

by cwviderkull

She stood crying
in the rain
trying to take comfort
in the fact that
nobody could see her tears

The raindrops make them redundant
she said, almost out loud
and redundancy can never be quite harmful
I’m wasting them, if anything
that’s my crime
yes. guilty.

You hear that?!
I’m wasting you.
You’re wasted.
Spilled. For nothing.
Meaningless.
Salience is not the goddamn difference between despair and slight annoyance!
It’s not.

But it is though. And she knew that.
She knew
the world is funny that way
it’s not just whats but also whys
and
even though her eyes are blue
they’re not the sky
and
rain don’t fall from blue skies
anyway.

Rain. Home.

by cwviderkull

Rain.
Water from the sky.
I’ve always felt at home in it.
Never understood why people don’t like it.

Nobody likes to get cold and wet.
I get that.
Of course.
But, you know,
put a jacket on.
Don’t blame the clouds for your over optimistic clothing choices.

Is it that it darkens the color palette?
It also makes things sparkle
and darkness is comforting.

Is it the absence of sun?
A temporary absence of something wonderful is not a bad thing.
It’s a necessity. So you’ll appreciate it when it’s there.

Raindrops look like tears.
But I always cry with laughter
and almost never when I’m sad.
Maybe that’s the difference.

Anyhow.

Rain is coziness, fresh air and rainbows.
Rain is
Home.
